Cahaba Valley Elks Lodge used its 2025-2026 Spotlight Grant to support the local Vineyard Family Services’ Bundles of Love program by providing essential baby items to women in the area seeking assistance with baby care. The Spotlight Committee includes Sharon Gaydon, Cheri Huey, Shannon Hubbard, Robin Hussey, Marvin Johnson, Liz and Delane Ponder, Christi Jones, and Bill Munch. Members volunteered their shopping skills to pack 50 baskets with necessary supplies. The balance of Grant funds was presented to Vineyard Director Christy Wright and Manager Sarah Babcock.
In 2025, Cahaba Valley Elks Lodge #1738 received $2000 from a Grand Lodge Spotlight Grant to fund the Bundles of Love program sponsored by Vineyard Family Services of Pelham, Alabama. Members shopped and assembled 50 baskets of requested supplies that were to be distributed to qualifying mothers in need of support. The baskets included diapers, baby cream, lotion, and shampoo, diaper cream, baby wipes, and feminine pads and a baby book for the future. The Spotlight Grant along with member donations also provided over $1000 as an additional cash support for Vineyard’s Bundles of Love Program.
