In September 2024, CVE Lodge #1738, using Gratitude Grant funds, contributed $1000 to the Indian Springs, Alabama, Cub Scout Pack #538. The pack leaders were excited to be able to provide their Cub Scouts camping supplies, backpacks, award supplies, and repairs for the trailer used to transport the camping equipment. The Lodge members are interested in supporting the young scouts and in the future may volunteer to assist the Pack leaders. One of the goals of the Cahaba Valley Elks Lodge is to invest in youth organizations that promote patriotism and serving the community. In the future Lodge members will present Know Your Flag programs to scouts and their family.
