Cahaba Valley Elks Lodge #1738 participated in the BPO Elks USA Hoop Shoot Contest. Over 25 Pelham students ages 8-13 participated in this annual Free Throw Contest. Lodge members along with Pelham Parks & Recreation staff members organized and officiated the contest. Qualifying winners were sponsored to go on to the state level of the competition. Nine-year-old Harrison Mitchell of Pelham Oaks Elementary School went on to achieve 3rd place in his age category. Following the competition, students and their family members were invited to attend the awards banquet held at the Bessemer Elks Lodge.
