The Cahaba Valley Elks Lodge No 1738 held its annual Flag Day Celebration on Sunday, June 11, 2023. The program presented the history of our country’s Grand Ole Flag. Members Bob Shinpaugh, Ron Stone, Mary Ann McKim, and Ann Curry read the story of each of the nine flags to describe the how and why our nation’s Flag evolved to the Fifty Star Flag of today. The event was followed by an All American Picnic provided by the Flag Day Celebration Committee chaired by Shannon Hubbard and Liz Ponder. Congratulations to all for an outstanding recognition of the history our American Flag.
